Abilene ISD’s Purchasing Department has once again been recognized with the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations, marking the third consecutive year the district has received this distinction.
The TASBO Award of Merit recognizes school districts across Texas that demonstrate strong, responsible purchasing practices. Out of more than 1,200 school districts across Texas, only a select number receive this recognition each year.
The AISD purchasing team works behind the scenes to support campuses and departments across the district, ensuring that resources are managed thoughtfully and efficiently.
To earn the TASBO Award of Merit, districts must demonstrate:
Strong internal controls and compliance practices
Transparent and ethical procurement processes
Efficient use of district resources
Ongoing evaluation and improvement of purchasing procedures
