Abilene ISD is pleased to announce Patricia Anderson as the new principal for the Woodson Center for Excellence. Anderson replaces Lori Ladyman, who will continue serving AISD students in a leadership capacity for the district’s behavior support programs.
“The Woodson Center for Excellence is a critical part of our mission to equip learners to make a positive impact in their world, and Mrs. Anderson is the right person to lead that work at Woodson,” said Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn. “I look forward to supporting her as she continues serving Woodson students, teachers, staff, and families.”
Anderson has served as associate principal at Woodson since 2023 and brings more than 30 years of experience in education to her new role. Anderson began her career as a middle school teacher in AISD before moving into campus leadership as an instructional specialist at Craig Middle School in 2010. She later served as an academic officer and associate principal at Abilene High School before joining Woodson, where she has supported student and teacher success by building positive school-to-family connections and strengthening positive behavior systems.
“I am excited about transitioning into this new role and look forward to continuing our focus on helping every student be successful,” Anderson said.
Anderson earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Abilene Christian University. She also holds mid-management and superintendent certifications.
