Congratulations Ryan Ward Girls Head Golf Coach Abilene High

Abilene ISD announced Friday that Ryan Ward has been named the next head coach for the Abilene High School girls golf program.

“We’re excited to welcome Coach Ward back to Abilene High,” said Principal Emme Siburt. “He has a strong track record of leading athletic programs, and I’m confident he will lead our Lady Eagle golfers to success on and off the green.”

Ward returns to Abilene ISD after previously serving in the district from 2006 to 2016 as a teacher and coach at Abilene High School and Mann STEAM Academy (formerly Mann Middle School). Throughout his career, he has helped lead teams to multiple post-season appearances at the regional and state levels. Since 2018, Ward has served as a teacher, head football and track coach, and athletic director at Texas Leadership Charter Academy in Abilene.

“I’m so excited to be back at Abilene High soaring with the Eagles,” Ward said. “I can’t wait to get back to work with our student athletes and help them reach their full potential.”

Ward earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Hardin-Simmons University.
