The Abilene Education Foundation (AEF) recently surprised teachers across Abilene ISD with more than $67,000 in STAR Grant Awards, providing funding to bring innovative classroom projects and learning experiences to life for students.

Each year, AEF’s STAR Grant program provides direct financial support to Abilene ISD educators, empowering them to pursue creative ideas, introduce new resources, and expand opportunities for hands-on learning.

During the foundation’s annual STAR Grant Prize Parade, AEF representatives visited campuses throughout the district to surprise teachers with the exciting news that their projects had been selected for funding.

This year’s funded projects include initiatives ranging from hydroponic STEM gardens and hands-on engineering labs, to student broadcasting equipment, literacy projects, and opportunities for students to develop entrepreneurial skills.

The STAR Grant program is one of the many ways the Abilene Education Foundation supports its mission of enhancing educational opportunities for Abilene ISD students and educators. Through the generosity of donors and community partners, AEF continues to invest in innovative teaching and learning experiences that benefit students across the district.
