Abilene ISD CTAT CTE District of Distinction

Abilene ISD is proud to announce that the district has been named a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This statewide honor recognizes districts with exceptional Career and Technical Education programs that provide high-quality pathways aligned to student interests, community needs, and workforce demands.

“We’re proud to celebrate this achievement with our community,” Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn said. “Our CTE programs prepare students for successful futures in high-demand careers, and this recognition shows that AISD is setting the standard, both locally and across the state.”

As a District of Distinction, AISD will be highlighted by CTAT as a model of excellence for districts across Texas, sharing best practices and innovative approaches that support student success to strengthen collaboration and continuous improvement.

“We are so proud of our CTE teachers, students, staff, and community partners,” CTE Director Lucille Fullen said. “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication happening every day to provide students with real-world learning opportunities that prepare them for success.”

In order to earn the designation, AISD was evaluated through a rubric measuring district performances in areas such as programs of study, industry-based certifications, curriculum quality, community and business partnerships, student outcomes, and teacher quality.
