Alcorta Elementary School recognized Black History Month today with an event full of inspiration, culture, and celebration. 🎉 Students heard from inspirational speakers, watched an exciting step performance, enjoyed a puppet show that brought history to life, and wrapped up with a hip-hop dance party.
Afterward, students toured the school's Black History Museum, learning about groundbreaking inventions by Black creators.💡

Kindergarten Grinch juice was perfect for our Grinch Day 💚



Alcorta Elementary school received a triple star award today for the performance of our 5th grade math students. The triple star award is given for having an increase in the number 5th grade students performing at the meets level on STAAR one year to the next, exceeding the district average, and exceeding the state average!!!! 👏👏
We are so proud of the amazing work done by our students and their teacher Mrs. Chaney! A shout-out also goes to all of our math teachers and two of our math tutors, Marcy Choate and Allison Josselet, who have worked with this group of students over the years! Way to go Buffaloes!


Day 2 of Capturing Kids’ Hearts is complete! We cannot wait to implement all that we have learned!
