Congratulations Lyndsey Williamson Associate Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

Abilene ISD is pleased to announce that Mrs. Lyndsey Williamson has been named associate superintendent for curriculum and instruction. Williamson will lead the district’s K-12 academic programs and oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of classroom instruction across all campuses. Williamson replaces Mrs. Patti Blue, who joined AISD’s leadership team in 2024 and will retire from education after more than 35 years of service to Big Country students and schools.

“I’m honored and excited by the opportunity to serve our district as associate superintendent of curriculum and instruction,” said Williamson. “I’ve spent the past 20 years in Abilene ISD as a teacher, counselor, and administrator, and this community means a great deal to me. With my two children attending school in the district and my spouse also working here, AISD is truly home for our family. I look forward to supporting our campuses, building strong relationships, and helping ensure every AISD student has the opportunity to succeed.”

Williamson brings more than two decades of established educational leadership to her new role. She began her professional career in Abilene ISD by teaching mathematics at the former Mann Middle School in 2005. She then served as a teacher and guidance counselor at Abilene High School, principal of Holland Medical, and associate principal for Cooper High School before stepping into the principalship at Cooper in 2019. Williamson was promoted to the district’s executive director of secondary education position in early 2025.

“Lyndsey is a first-class leader who knows how to drive academic and operational initiatives while ensuring our classrooms continue to offer great experiences for every student,” AISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Kuhn said. “She is the right person to help Abilene ISD promote high-quality teaching and learning at every level.”

Williamson holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in school guidance and counseling from Angelo State University, where she also earned a principal’s certification.
