Abilene ISD is proud to share that Jordan Ziemer, Ph.D., executive director of communications, has been honored as a 20 Under 40 recipient through the Abilene Young Professionals program of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce.
The 20 Under 40 program recognizes young professionals who are excelling in their careers while making meaningful contributions to the Abilene community and the Big Country. Honorees are nominated by the public and selected by an anonymous committee of local business leaders. A reception honoring the 2026 class will take place in February 2026.
In his role at Abilene ISD, Dr. Ziemer leads districtwide communications and community engagement efforts in support of AISD students, educators, and families. He also serves as president-elect of the Texas School Public Relations Association, providing leadership and guidance to school public relations professionals across the state.
"Thriving Texas communities depend on strong public schools," Dr. Ziemer shared. "It's an honor and a privilege to support Abilene by serving our schools and teachers as they equip learners for brighter futures."
Dr. Ziemer is the eighth AISD employee to receive this recognition since the program began in 2008. The most recent recipients were Stafford Elementary Principal Melissa Scott and Cooper High School Coach Michael Bacon.
