Gallimaufry, Abilene ISD’s award-winning literary and arts journal, is now accepting submissions for its 2026 edition. Published annually by the district’s creative writing students, the student-led journal features original works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, art, photography, music, and film created by Abilene ISD students, faculty, and staff.
All submissions are reviewed through a double-blind process, with each piece evaluated by three editors and a senior editor.
This year’s theme, “Shifts,” explores the moments when everything changes, whether suddenly or subtly. The theme invites creators to capture transformation in all its forms: changes in perspective, emotion, environment, or identity that alter how we see the world and ourselves.
Those interested in submitting work can visit the Gallimaufry webpage for theme ideas, prompts, and formatting guidelines, or go directly to the submission form.
