Abilene ISD CTAT CTE District of Distinction

Abilene ISD is proud to announce that the district has been named a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This statewide honor recognizes districts with exceptional Career and Technical Education programs that provide high-quality pathways aligned to student interests, community needs, and workforce demands.

β€œWe’re proud to celebrate this achievement with our community,” Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn said. β€œOur CTE programs prepare students for successful futures in high-demand careers, and this recognition shows that AISD is setting the standard, both locally and across the state.”

As a District of Distinction, AISD will be highlighted by CTAT as a model of excellence for districts across Texas, sharing best practices and innovative approaches that support student success to strengthen collaboration and continuous improvement.

β€œWe are so proud of our CTE teachers, students, staff, and community partners,” CTE Director Lucille Fullen said. β€œThis recognition reflects the hard work and dedication happening every day to provide students with real-world learning opportunities that prepare them for success.”

In order to earn the designation, AISD was evaluated through a rubric measuring district performances in areas such as programs of study, industry-based certifications, curriculum quality, community and business partnerships, student outcomes, and teacher quality.
