Hello Purcell Families,

We hope your summer is off to a great start! We’re proud of all your students accomplished this school year, and we’re looking forward to welcoming them back this fall. Our staff is continuing to prepare for the official launch of Purcell STEM Academy, and we want to share an update on our work and what it means for your child. 

In 2026-27, every Purcell student will experience weekly STEM learning opportunities designed to help them think like engineers: designing, building, testing, and improving solutions to real-world challenges. Through these experiences they’ll learn important skills like collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and adaptability that will benefit them in any academic or career path they choose. We’re excited to bring this vision to life through advanced learning experiences and a shared school identity as the Purcell STEM Academy Engineers!

This fall, our kindergarten, first grade, and PALS Engineers will be fully immersed in this new learning model with daily STEM-focused instruction. Engineers in second through fifth grade will also benefit from intentionally designed STEM learning activities every week. All six grade levels will be fully immersed in the new learning model every day by the 2029-30 school year.
