Abilene ISD schools are celebrating National School Lunch Week (NSLW) from Oct. 14-17, 2025, joining schools across Texas and the nation in recognizing the importance of nutritious school meals for student success.
This year’s theme, “Texas Taste Tour: Your School Lunch Passport,” highlights the fresh, healthy, and Texas-grown foods featured in school lunches. Throughout the week, AISD elementary and pre-k cafeterias will serve special themed menus inspired by flavors from across the Lone Star State. Click here to view this week's menus.
The AISD Student Nutrition team promotes healthy habits year-round by participating in the Texas Farm Fresh Initiative, which features a Harvest of the Month to showcase locally grown produce and encourage students to enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Families can learn more about AISD's Student Nutrition Program by visiting the Student Nutrition webpage, which includes information on a la carte menu items and pricing, special dietary requests, and the Student Nutrition newsletter. Daily menus with nutritional information is available through the Nutrislice app.
AISD continues to operate under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which provides free breakfast and lunch for all students throughout the 2025-26 school year.
