ABILENE — An integral part of Abilene ISD’s safety plan for in-person instruction was the creation of health and safety protocols designed to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. It was the district’s goal to create an environment that provides students with the most engaging instructional and educational experiences while ensuring the health and safety of students and staff. These protocols have been adjusted at the end of each six weeks to reflect the current status of COVID-19 in our community.
After the end of the first six weeks, visitors who provide a direct student service were allowed to be on campus as long as they followed health and safety protocols. Additionally we allowed voluntary indoor activities and performances as long as they were not scheduled during the school day.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 – to the extent that campuses can accommodate (space limitations, etc.) – parents and/or guardians will be permitted to have lunch with their child if they are willing to abide by certain health and safety protocols.
The current Abilene ISD Health and Safety protocols have been posted on our website and we are requesting the feedback of parents, student, staff and community members. ABILENE — Una parte integral del plan de seguridad de Abilene ISD para la instrucción presencial fue la creación de protocolos de salud y seguridad diseñados para ayudar a mitigar la propagación de COVID-19. Nuestro objetivo era crear un entorno que proporcione a los estudiantes las experiencias instructivas y educativas más atractivas y, al mismo tiempo, garantizar la salud y la seguridad de los estudiantes y el personal. Estos protocolos han sido ajustados al final de cada seis semanas para reflejar el estado actual del COVID-19 en nuestra comunidad.
