Welcome to Ward Elementary School! We are located in far southwest Abilene and tucked away in the Country Side North neighborhood. We truly are a neighborhood school encompassing the areas of Country Side, Country Side North, The Oaks, Stonegate, Canyon Rock Lake and Woodlake as well as several large apartment complexes and the neighborhoods surrounding them.
Allie Ward Elementary School came into existence in 1992 as this part of Abilene was experiencing very rapid growth. We routinely have an enrollment of around 575 students and serve children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. We are also the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) for Abilene and a radius of about 80 miles around our city.
You will find that Ward has the hardest working faculty and staff of any school around. Our teachers put in countless hours each year to help produce very successful students. We are also blessed to have very supportive parents who work with their children.
We also have a wonderful PTO at Ward. Our PTO board and general membership puts in enormous time and effort to help our school be the best it can be.
Allie Ward Elementary School truly is a wonderful place to be!
