Cooper head football coach Aaron Roan was recently honored as one of the Be Well, Texas Unsung Heroes for making a difference in the community of Abilene. Be Well, Texas is partnering with Dave Campbell’s Texas Football to present these awards throughout the season.

Be Well, Texas is a state-supported program for all Texans seeking help with substance use or mental health issues. The Be Well, Texas staff provides convenient access (in person or digitally) to high-quality, evidence-based treatment and services, regardless of ability to pay.

“We all go through struggles in life, each and every one of us,” Roan said. “What Be Well, Texas is providing in terms of different avenues of help makes it an invaluable resource in every community.”

Other head football coaches honored already this fall are Mark Soto (Converse Judson), Jason Todd (South Oak Cliff), Michael Pry (El Paso Coronado), Jeff Ellison (Odessa Permian), Claude Mathis (DeSoto), Ben Bitner (Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial), Jeff Ables (Austin Bowie), TP Miller (San Antonio Johnson), Cedric Allen (Houston Westside), and Kyle Westerburg (Whitehouse).
