UIL Region Band Results

Abilene High School and Cooper High School band students competed in the University Interscholastic League Region Solo and Ensemble competition on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Abilene Wylie High School, and 12 Abilene ISD soloists and 12 ensembles qualified for the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest, scheduled late May in Pflugerville.

STATE SOLO QUALIFIERS

Qualifying for the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest by earning a first division rating on a Class 1 memorized solo from Abilene High were sophomore Renee Barber (clarinet), sophomore Anson Cobarruvias (trombone), sophomore Vivian Dyer (percussion), junior Cole Elders (baritone saxophone), sophomore Brady Lambert (percussion), sophomore Jackson Liske (percussion), sophomore Rose Liu (percussion), junior Lianna Pfrimmer (French horn), senior Adi Pilit (euphonium), and junior Zachary Vann (piano).

Qualifying for the UIL state contest by earning a first division rating on a Class 1 memorized solo from Cooper were junior Avian Sansom (marimba) and senior Benjamin Weems (percussion).

STATE ENSEMBLE QUALIFIERS

Qualifying for state by earning a first division rating on a Class 1 ensemble from Abilene High were freshman Corbin Barbarick, sophomore Duke Decker, junior Bella Flores, sophomore Aurora Harris, sophomore Rose Liu, sophomore Hudson Pietsek, and freshman Will Tidmore (symphonic percussion); junior Julia Chambers, sophomore Duke Decker, sophomore Vivian Dyer, junior Bethany Findley, sophomore Brady Lambert, sophomore Jackson Liske, junior Mattie Spaulding, junior Mason Tidmore, and junior Zachary Vann (honor percussion); junior Trevor Martin, senior Cruz Molina, senior Adi Pilit, junior Lianna Pfrimmer, senior Cory Rodriguez, junior Luke Roemisch, and senior Aiden Schwartz (brass ensemble); sophomore Renee Barber, senior Caleb Irwin, sophomore Baylee Lawrence, and senior Sydney Spell (clarinet quartet); senior Karissa Chapman, junior Branson Corder, junior Cole Elders, and junior Gabby Trujillo (saxophone quartet).

CLASS 1 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATING

Earning a first-division rating on a Class 1 solo from Abilene High were sophomore Hazel Samuels (oboe) and senior Chantelle Wahome (French horn).

Earning a first-division rating on a Class 1 solo from Cooper were junior Tristan Tardiff (oboe), sophomore Elijah Estrada (tenor saxophone), sophomore Ben Walter (baritone saxophone), senior Aaron Reece (French horn), junior Derek Crespo (trumpet), sophomore Kenneth Heck (trombone), and sophomore Mikado Lam (tuba).

CLASS 2 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATING

Earning a first-division rating on a Class 2 solo from Abilene High was sophomore Colt Moreland (piano).

Earning a first-division rating on a Class 2 solo from Cooper was freshman Isabella Gonzalez (flute).


UIL Region Orchestra Results

Abilene High School and Cooper High School orchestra students competed in the University Interscholastic League Region Solo and Ensemble competition on Saturday, Feb. 17.  AISD had students advance to the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest, scheduled for late May in the Austin area.

STATE SOLO QUALIFIERS:

Qualifying for the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest by earning a first division rating on a Class 1 memorized solo from Abilene High were senior Trinity Bryant (bass), freshman Alexxis Duarte (violin), and senior Zoe Prescott (viola).

Qualifying for the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest by earning a first division rating on a Class 1 memorized solo from Cooper were senior Brynn Bradshaw (bass), senior Dathan Dillinger (cello), junior Roland Gil (piano), senior Libby Herring (viola), and sophomore Zoe Lopez (bass).

CLASS 1 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATING:

Earning a first division rating on a Class 1 solo from Abilene High was sophomore Daniel Cortinez (viola).

CLASS 2 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATING:

Earning a first division rating on a Class 2 solo from Abilene High was junior Zoe Wilson (cello).

Earning a first division rating on a Class 2 solo from Cooper were freshman Rebecca Benitez (violin) and junior Scadi Hoscheck (cello).

CLASS 3 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATING:

Earning a first division rating on a Class 3 solo from Abilene High was freshman Ezekiel Hernandez (violin).
