The United States Tennis Association is honoring the Abilene High School coaching duo of head coach Stacy Bryan and assistant Daniel Olivares for promoting the sport of tennis in a big way.

As part of the 2017 USTA Texas Community Development Awards, the Eagle coaches have been selected as the High School No-Cut Coaches of the Year for the state. The honor awards programs that do not cut athletes, thus encouraging participation for all students who wish to play tennis.

“We appreciate your dedication to growing the game of tennis in Texas,” wrote Alexandra Trobough, the Community Services Manager for USTA Texas, in informing the coaches of the selection.

Bryan and Olivares were honored at the Texas Tennis Summit awards dinner Sept. 22, in Georgetown.
