The athletic training staffs of AHS and CHS are proud to announce that four senior student athletic trainers have received Academic All-State Achievement from the Texas State Athletic Trainer’s Association.

AHS and CHS each had two students recognized for the statewide award.

Selected from AHS are Claire Stokes, who will be attending Texas Tech University next year, and Allison Mantooth, who plans to enter the athletic training program at Hardin-Simmons University.

CHS representatives on the academic all-state team are Hannah McGuire and Makiah Staples, who both plan to enter the athletic training/physical therapy field of study after high school. Earlier this year, McGuire received Academic All-State First Team honors in football athletic training from the Texas High School Coaches Association.

According to AISD Athletic Training staff members, these students must balance academics, athletic training and high school life. They average between 500 to 700 hours a year outside of their athletic training class period helping with practices and both home and away games.
