ABILENE – Both Abilene High School and Cooper High School band students competed in the Texas Music Educators Association Region 6 Virtual Band Auditions.
Six Abilene High School students were selected for the All-Region Freshman Band: Caleb Irwin and Sydney Spell – Clarinet; Barrett Roberson and Cory Rodriguez – Trumpet; Adi Pilit – Euphonium; and Mallory Traylor – Percussion.
Seven Cooper High School students were selected for the All-Region Freshman Band: Blaze Carter – Clarinet; Maleah Hudson – French Horn; Demario Dawkins and Jenna Herrera – Trombone; Orion Smith – Euphonium; and Caven Dooley and Zamar Morrison – Tuba.
Four Abilene High School students were selected for the All-Region Concert Band: Kyla Lindley – Clarinet; Courtney Molina – Alto Sax; Amir Lee – Bass Trombone; and Mallory Traylor – Percussion.
Seven Cooper High School students were selected for the All-Region Concert Band: Eddie Stefan – Contra-Bass Clarinet; Sebastian Tardiff – Bassoon; Taylor Hvidt – Alto Sax; Jonathon Carranza – Trumpet; Meredith Clancy and John Tran – French Horn; and Aaron Brokovich – Percussion.
Seven Abilene High School students were selected for the All-Region Symphonic Band: Emma Pfrimmer – Flute; Nicholas Gonzalez and Karissa Ward – Clarinet; Courtney Molina – Tenor Sax; Adrian Fowlkes and William Marshall – Trumpet; and Brooke Garduno – French Horn.
Five Cooper High School students were selected for the All-Region Symphonic Band: Owen Bailey – Oboe; Jaime Herrera – Clarinet; Aaron Reece – French Horn; Jacob Moore – Tenor Trombone; and John David King – Tuba.
Eight students from Abilene High School were selected for the TMEA Area Band: Emma Pfrimmer – Flute; Nicholas Gonzalez – Clarinet; Karissa Ward – Clarinet; Courtney Molina – Tenor Saxophone; Adrian Fowlkes and William Marshall – Trumpet; Brooke Garduno – French Horn; and Amir Lee – Bass Trombone.
Twelve students from Cooper High School were selected for the TMEA Area Band. Eddie Stefan, a senior from Cooper High School, placed 1st chair at Area Auditions and was selected to the 5A All-State Band on Contrabass Clarinet.
The Abilene High School band students are under the direction of Jonathan Kraemer, Tyler Jacks, and Christina Hurlbut. The Cooper High School Band students are under the direction of Anthony Gibson, Jessica Fox, and Patrick Stevenson.
