2022 team strengths, weaknesses, team goals:

Strengths – core group of starters returning from last year that have experience at the varsity level.

Weaknesses – still a relatively young team made up of mostly underclassmen.

Team goals – our goal is to be competing for a playoff spot.

Coach Fletcher says:

“We probably have the best baseball talent that we’ve had at Abilene High in 4-5 years.  While we are still relatively young, we have a good core of seniors and returners with varsity experience that will be beneficial for the young guys. With the combination of experience and talent we should be able to compete for a playoff spot.”

2022 team strengths, weaknesses, team goals:

Strengths – older group with 15 seniors but will have a mix of young guys.

Weaknesses – coming off a down year in 2021. Top-end pitching

Team goals – playoffs should be a realistic goal for us. I believe that it will be a fight between 4 teams for 2 playoff spots.

Coach Stover says:

“I’m excited to see how this group meshes together. We are doing things a little different and it may take a while for this group to get together. We have some leaders and many of our guys have varsity experience, and with the addition of some new faces we have a chance to get Cooper baseball back on track.”
