Three Abilene ISD middle school bands closed their concert seasons last month by competing in and earning top honors at two contests.

The Craig Middle School Symphonic Band earned a Superior (Division 1) rating from all judges at the Choice Music Festival on April 14 in Richardson. Director Dale Pfrimmer took 40 students to the competition at the Eisemann Performing Arts Center.

Three district bands competed on April 28 at the Beginner Band Festival in Clyde, with the Clack Middle School taking top honors. The Clack beginner band earned a Superior (Division 1) rating from the judges and received the Overall Outstanding Band Award at the contest.

The Mann Beginner Band and the Craig Beginner Band both earned a Superior (Division 1) rating from the judges.

The middle school bands are under the direction of Pearl Gonzales and Lance Mosley (Clack), Dale Pfrimmer and James Loera (Craig), and Amber Moore and Emma Hoover (Mann).
