The community is invited to a pair of informational meetings on the Abilene ISD bond proposal prior to the Nov. 6 election.

The public is invited to attend the following bond presentations:

  • Monday, Sept. 24              Abilene High School West Cafeteria, 6:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 1                 Cooper High School Auditorium, 6:30 p.m.

At both informational meetings, Superintendent Dr. David Young will present details of the proposed projects in the referendum and lead the audience in a Q & A session.

Voters will consider a $138.7 million bond package that addresses replacing three elementary schools, building a combined Career Tech/ATEMS facility, expansions and renovations for student programs such as fine arts and athletics, and HVAC improvements. Early voting is from Monday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Nov. 2.
