About 400 retired teachers enjoyed fellowship. entertainment and a free holiday meal on Nov. 29 at the annual AISD Retiree Luncheon at the Abilene Convention Center.
Members of the AISD Student Nutrition Department prepared the turkey, dressing and fixings for the honored guests, and entertainment was provided by the Soundwave Handbell Choir under the direction of Eric Logan. In addition to a serving crew made up of administrators, principals and trustees, Cooper High School teacher Jimmy Pogue served as emcee and Superintendent Dr. David Young shared remarks to the invited guests.
