Events, Exhibitions Highlight Youth Art Month

March is National Youth Art Month, and students from Abilene ISD and other area schools are gearing up with exhibits and events in the coming weeks.

• Youth Art Month will be celebrated throughout March at The Grace Museum. More than 1,000 pieces of art created by K-12 students from Abilene ISD and area schools will be exhibited at The Grace through March 21. The student artwork represents selections from 35 art instructors in Abilene and the area. Last year, more than 1,700 visitors attended the opening of the exhibit.
• AISD’s 8^th Grade Pre-AP Art Reception and Show open Feb. 26 at the Amy Graves Ryan Fine Arts Gallery at McMurry University. The exhibition runs through March 8 and will feature art selections created by 8^th grade students from all four AISD middle schools.
