ABILENE – The Abilene High School Air First Junior ROTC instructors and candidates earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards” during their evaluation on Nov. 21.

The AHS group achieved the highest rating attainable, thanks in part to the dynamic and supportive learning environment established by Lt. Col. (ret.) Robert A. Davidson and CMSgt. (ret.) Thomas D. Sokolncki. Couple that with a community outreach initiative that has logged more than 1,250 hours of community service and it’s easy to see why praise was overflowing for the TX-081 Unit.

Here are some of the comments from the evaluators:

“Perfect uniform accountability! The Logistics Officer displayed complete ownership of her logistics program. Use of Point of Sale bard code system is unique and augments WINGS in a positive way. Well done!”

“Strong community service and community program. Unite has amassed more than 1,250 hours to date with more than half the school year to go. Well done!”

“Superb briefing by the entire cadet staff. It was clear that the cadets had thoroughly prepared. All questions confidently answered. Well done by all!”

“Cadet ownership of program and activities was clearly evident. Cadet leaders are actively training their replacements.”

“Highly proficient drill demonstration. It was clear they had prepared thoroughly and they delivered! Discipline, teamwork and attention to detail was clear.”

“It is clear the cadets of TX-081 take great pride in representing their program.”
