Folks in the Big Country are accustomed to hearing about the exploits of Abilene ISD’s own Revolution Strings ensemble. Now, the rest of the state is learning.

Revolution Strings is featured in the annual “Bragging Rights” issue of the statewide magazine, Texas School Business, which bills itself as “The News Magazine for Texas Public Education.” The three-page spread in the 11th annual Bragging Rights edition highlights the accomplishment of the musical group and features photos of the group during its 2017 tour of Canada. In addition, there are photos and comments from Director Darcy Radcliffe, AISD Superintendent Dr. David Young and former Revolution member, Candi Ice, now the orchestra director at Madison Middle School.

The article on Revolution was one of 12 selected for the issue and taken from more than 200 submissions from throughout the state. One point of clarification on the story written by Texas School Business editorial director Dacia Rivers. The article states that Revolution is a program at Abilene High School, yet we all know that the globetrotting group features the finest of string players from the high school orchestra programs of both AHS and Cooper High School.
