Building Partnerships with Families

The goal of parent and family engagement is to work with families to build strong and effective partnerships that can help children and families thrive. These partnerships are grounded in positive, ongoing, and goal-oriented relationships with families. They are also developed over time, through a series of interactions between staff and families.

Successful relationships focus on families’ strengths. They build on a shared commitment to the child’s well-being and success. Strong partnerships with families contribute to stronger family and child outcomes.

The Family & Community Engagement program seeks to build positive, supportive relationships with parents and community agencies/ organizations to promote school readiness for students and families. Families receive assistance in identifying strengths, assessing services and support needed, and setting goals. Community Partnerships with other helping agencies are utilized to help meet the needs of our families. AISD Early Head Start staff and families work together to form strong partnerships that are designed to help families progress toward achieving goals and attaining services that support the positive development of children.
