Welcome to Madison Art! Here we will discuss art history, art interpretation, and create our own works of art. 7th and 8th graders may take one semester of art and 7th graders who complete the semester are possibly eligible to take Pre-AP Art (a high school level course) during 8th grade. Pre-AP Art is limited by size and instructor approval.
I have a BFA in Studio Art with an emphasis in painting and an MA in Museum Studies. My background is in art education, curating, and public programs. I love the experience of art (loooking, discussing, and making) and enjoy sharing that passion with middle schoolers as well as college students (I also teach at the university level as an adjunct).
Our classroom has received grants for our Digital Archive Booth as well as our Art History Illustrated Library from the Abilene Education Foundation!
Students and parents should utilize the Remind Me App to stay up to date on due dates, project information, and more.
Tutoring is available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and in the morning by appointment.
