Principal

Hello! My name is Carmen Crane and I am honored to serve as Principal at Ortiz Elementary.  I began my career in education in 2004 and am excited to “return home’ to AISD.  I received my undergraduate degree from Hardin Simmons University and my Master’s degree from Angelo State University.  Prior to Oritz I had the opportunity to serve as a teacher in Fort Worth ISD and Northwest ISD and as principal at Texas Leadership Charter Academy. 

I have been married to my husband, Greg for 23 years and together we have 3 children: Caden (22), Jackson (14), and Kensley (10). 

I am passionate about empowering students to be the leaders of their learning.  My goal is for every student at Ortiz to leave prepared to change the world.  I am here to assist you in any way.  Please reach out if you have a need or just to chat.  What a great adventure is ahead of us!
