Second Grade

Wildcats are excited as we step into second grade!

Wildcats are readers!  We read at home daily with our parents.  This improves our fluency.  We read and test using AR books to improve our comprehension.  We work together at school to learn strategies for reading, research, and critical thinking.

Wildcats are writers!  As we read…we write.  We are making connections between reading and writing in every subject area. Communication is important.  We can communicate by writing.

Wildcats are scientists!  We explore physical and life science using books, technology, and hands-on experiments.

Wildcats share our world!  During social studies, we learn about our place in the world.  We begin at home, study our state, country and the world. How we treat each other is an important part of our education.

We value our help from parents at home!  Thank you, parents, for reading daily and practicing those basic math facts!
