Michelle Hillock
Hello Ortiz Family! My name is Michelle Hillock and I am honored to be the assistant principal at Ortiz Elementary. I started my wonderful journey in education in 2005 here at Ortiz and returned to the district in 2015, after teaching in Merkel ISD for nine years. I received my undergraduate degree from Our Lady of the Lake University and my master’s degree from Angelo State University. I was born in Fort Worth, grew up in Coleman, and in 2004 moved back to Abilene to be closer to family. My husband Darrell and I have been married for 20 years.
My goal, as assistant principal, is to cultivate a lifelong desire to learn in our students. Each day brings a new opportunity for students to realize their individual and collective gifts in building a community of learners and leaders.
