My name is Laurie (Velasquez) Parks.  My children and I all attended and graduated from AISD schools.  I have been teaching at Ward Elementary since graduating from ACU in 2010.  Reading intervention was my first position here at Ward.  The next year I moved to teach Music and the year after that I moved into a second grade teaching position for one year.  After teaching second grade for one year, I moved into the third grade position that I currently teach in and have been teaching for the past eight years.
