Mrs. Reed has been teaching Elementary Music in the Abilene Independent School District since 2004.  The last 13 years has been at Austin Elementary.   Last year Mrs. Reed was name "Teacher of the Year". Prior to teaching for AISD, she taught Voice and Opera at McMurry University and Voice at Abilene Christian University. She serves on the board of directors for Chorus Abilene and directs a Children's Choir at Heavenly Rest Episcopal Church. Mission Statement for Mrs. Reed's classroom: Students will become "tuneful", "beatful" and "artful" so that music can be interwoven throughout their lives.  Music class will enhance a child's sense of community, while learning to work and create together in a joyous environment. In music class students will SING; MOVE, PLAY, READ, COMPOSE, AUDIATE, WRITE, MEMORIZE, CONDUCT, CREATE, and IMPROVISE.  We use Orff Instruments, percussion instruments, ukuleles, recorders and of course our VOICE!
