Mark E. Gabehart is the Chief Technology Officer for Abilene ISD. Before coming to Abilene ISD, he served in key technology leadership positions over the past 15 years in school districts including Edgewood and Northside ISD in San Antonio to Cypress Fairbanks ISD and most recently La Porte ISD in the Houston area. During this time period he developed and implemented technology plans focusing on technology integration and staff development, wrote successful technology grants and bond packages, supported the daily instructional, administrative and infrastructure needs of the district, and served on several state level advisory technology committees.
Mark has a bachelor’s degree in Junior High Education from Illinois State University, two master degrees in Language Education and Public Affairs from Indiana University, and his mid-management certification from Texas A&M-Kingsville University.
Mark considers one of his proudest accomplishments was serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia, West Africa.
Mark is married to Yolanda Pineda-Gabehart and they have two daughters, Cassandra (age 14) and Gabriella ( age 9). A major factor in coming to Abilene ISD was its reputation as an excellent school system and a great place to raise a family.
