Welcome to Abilene ISD’s Communication Department. Functions of the Communications Department include media relations, community partnerships, internal and external communications, public information requests, website homepage content and district wide special events.
All requests from the media should be directed to the Communications Office, either Lance Fleming at 677-1444, ext. 3262, or Jordan Ziemer at 677-1444, ex. 7231.
The Partners in Education office actively seeks resources to fill the needs identified by campuses from the Partners in Education and Volunteers in Public School (VIPS) Programs. Community support is developed through a continuing process of relationship building with businesses, professional organizations, parents, churches, higher education, Dyess AFB , and the community. The Abilene ISD Newsletter is a source of district information, calendar events and other interesting features on students, teachers and staff.
The Abilene ISD Newsletter is posted on the district website twice monthly during the school year.
Formal requests for public information should be directed to the Communications Office by mail, fax, electronically or in person. All requests for public information are considered in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act, Texas Government Code § 552.001, in addition to Abilene ISD legal and local policies.
