Welcome to the Abilene ISD Department of Communications! Functions of the Communications Department include media relations, community partnerships, internal and external communications, public information requests, district stories, and special events.
Media Relations
• All media inquiries, including interview requests for AISD staff or students, should be directed to the Director of Communications (Dr. Jordan Ziemer).
• Media are free to shoot video of campuses without prior approval from the Communications Office as long as they are positioned off campus and across the street (off AISD property).
• No media should be in an AISD facility or on an AISD campus without prior approval from Dr. Jordan Ziemer.
Community Partnerships
Community support is developed through a continuing process of relationship building with businesses, professional organizations, parents, churches, local colleges and universities, Dyess AFB, and the community. For more information call the Communications Office at 325-677-1444, ext. 7231.
District Information
The Abilene ISD Newsletter is posted on the district website monthly during the school year. The newsletter is a primary a source of district information, calendar events and other interesting features on students, teachers and staff.
Public Information
Formal requests for public information should be directed to the Communications Department by mail, email, or in person. Members of the public can also click here to submit a request using the district’s online public information request form. All requests for public information are considered in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act, Texas Government Code § 552.001, in addition to Abilene ISD legal and local policies.
