Who can attend?

Adult Education programs are open to anyone 19 yrs or older and not enrolled in a public K-12 school.  BRING YOUR ID AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARD FOR ENROLLMENT.

What if I am 16, 17 or 18 yrs. old? Is it possible for me to attend?

Yes! However, requirements for 16, 17, or 18 yr olds include:

16 yrs olds:   May only attend with a court order, school withdrawal, and parent signature

17 & 18 yr olds:    May attend with a school withdrawal form and parent signature.  *Note*  Parent signature is not required if the student is living independently (away from parents).

What does it cost?

There is no cost for instruction and/or materials for students enrolled. The Adult Education Programs are sponsored by the Abilene Independent School District and are supported by state and federal grant funds.

How do I register for classes?

Call (325) 671-4419 and ask for next available dates and times and to sign up for orientation.  

What do I need to bring?

You must present a valid, correct, government-issued ID and Social Security Card for orientation.

When does this happen?

We have orientation monthly (for GED) and weekly (for ESL). All orientation days are mandatory.
