Elementary Education

Welcome to the Office of Elementary Education. Abilene ISD is proud to provide a well-balanced K-5 educational program focusing on the foundation curriculum of English language arts & reading, mathematics, science and social studies along with an enrichment curriculum which includes fine arts, physical education, health and technology.

All Abilene ISD elementary campuses have full-day kindergarten programs. Research overwhelmingly shows that a full-day kindergarten program has a positive long-term impact on academic performance.

The Elementary Education Office supports the district’s mission in its commitment to the belief that children come first. Through curriculum, instruction, and professional staff development for teachers, this department strives to enhance the students’ academic experience and promote life-long literacy and learning for all students in
Abilene ISD.
