Angie Wiley

Angie Wiley, a public education advocate and community volunteer, was elected to the Abilene ISD Board of Trustees in 2016.

Mrs. Wiley and her husband, Rob, have lived in Abilene for 20-plus years and have raised and proudly educated their three children, Kristen (2009), Marcus (2012), and Elizabeth (2015) through Abilene ISD. Rob is a local pediatrician and serves as the district physician. Angie grew up in Hale Center, near Lubbock, and is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University (BBA 1986). After graduation, she earned a teaching certificate and taught school in San Antonio and Oklahoma City before returning to Abilene in 1995.

Angie has served as president of the Abilene Education Foundation, during which she had the opportunity to serve teachers, students and families through AEF’s programs, grants, and scholarships. She served as president of parent organizations at Austin Elementary, Lincoln Middle School, and Mann Middle School, turning into a tennis mom and soccer mom at Abilene High School. In 2013, Angie served on the District Wide Facilities Assessment Committee in preparation for the recent bond approval. She is currently a member of the Hendrick Medical Foundation, Advisory Board of the Abilene Education Foundation, and Hardin-Simmons Academic Foundation. Angie and Rob serve and worship at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
