Alta Vista Learning Center
West Central Texas Adult Education
Adult Education offers free career services.
Don’t pay for college classes that don’t give you credit! If you are in need of assistance with in-demand college material, we can help with the following program (more to be added):
- CNA (Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing)
Students are enrolled, tested, then instructed based on test results. The material is tailored to the individual’s program of interest. If you are studying to be a CNA, instruction includes basic anatomy and physiology, fractions and percents, and basic writing and reading comprehension skills, including some selected early material used in CNA coursework. LVN and RN programs require rigorous algebra and writing. Additional career services are offered (resume writing, how to interview, etc.).
Don’t know what to do? We can discuss what in-demand occupation suits you best and get you connected with other organizations that may be able to help you with expenses and other barriers.
- Morning classes (2 days per week) are held on Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 – 11:30 AM
- Evening Classes (2 nights per week) are held on Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 – 8:30 PM
- Additional Classes as needed; by appointment only
