Adult Education currently offers the following career pathways:

  • CNA (Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing)
  • Welding (TSTC)
  • Industrial Fundamentals (TSTC)

To enroll in these classes, students must be tested through Adult Education and given 12-18 hrs of workplace training.  This training is tailored to the individual’s program of interest, so (for example) if you are studying to be a CNA, instruction includes basic anatomy and physiology, fractions and percents, basic writing and reading comprehension skills, and some early material used in CNA coursework.  Welding and Industrial courses require instruction in basic math, writing, measurements, and soft skills training.

  • Morning classes (3 days per week) are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8:30 – 11:30 AM
  • Afternoon classes (4 days per week) are held Monday through Thursday 1:30 – 4:30PM
  • Evening Classes (2 nights per week) are held on Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 – 8:30 PM
  • Additional Classes are by appointment only

We can also discuss what in-demand occupation suits you best and get you connected with other organizations that may be able to help you with expenses and other barriers.
