Clinical Teaching and Observation

The Abilene Independent School District offers cooperative teachers the opportunity to share their vast knowledge and expertise in the area of teaching and instruction with clinical teachers (student teachers), interns, and observers from our partnering universities, colleges, alternative certification programs, and other teacher preparation programs.

Requests for Observations

Universities and alternative certification entities wishing to observe in an Abilene ISD classroom must complete the following steps:

  • Contact Ross Thomas (ross.thomas@abileneisd.org)
  • Provide a syllabus or letter from the certification program stating that observation hours are required
  • Once approved, observers must provide an official government ID, including licenses and ID cards, upon entry into the school they have been assigned to observe in
